This was an exploit created by a “hybrid” team – basically ChronicDev, some other skilled people on IRC, and planetbeing of the iPhone Dev Team. It tok us about a month to implement, and was not very close to finished, not to mention we thought it would be best to save it for the new iPhone, but somehow NitroKey has it and released it. It is currently unknown how they got it, as we have looked at a NOR dump of someone that has applied it and it is VERY similar to our implementation of the exploit. A more formal post will probably come soon, but for now, here is something for the non believers. Note the timestamps:

    Chronic thank you for all your hard work and determination i have been following your blog religiously since about september of last year and was there for some of the ups and downs and hope there are many more ups to come i am now and have been for awhile a converted lifelong chronic dev fan

    An untethered version has been released
    this means, you can reboot w/o having to connect it to your computer and using a boot

    Thank you Chronic for eveyrhting you ,it would have been better if those assholes didn't start selling their stupid program so you could apply the same exploit later on the new iphone.but you made the right move by cutting the road on them,thank you again and God bless you
