greenpois0n only works on firmware 4.1, so (only if you have an iPhone 4!) if you are on a lower firmware make sure you use TinyUmbrella to preserve your baseband.

I am not the most tech savvy person, so I was hoping to get idiot-proof instructions on how to upgrade my Iphone 4 software to a newer version, as lately it is becoming a bit buggy.
Details: I live outside of the US, so I cannot use Verizon or ATT, therefore I need an unlocked and jailbroken phone.
Currently I have an Unlocked and Jailbroken Iphone 4.
iOS/Version: 4.0.2
Modem F/Baseband: 01.59.00
Installation for Windows needed.
I believe there are possible upgrades available, but I know I do not want to upgrade my Modem Firmware, nor do I want to upgrade to a version that does not have a jailbreak and/or unlock available.
Any help is appreciated.
i have downloaded greenpoision, and everything goes well, but when i tryed to open the loader it didn’t work. the readme said that ther has to be a green icon on the SpringBoar but there is just a white wall
I have a 3g 32Gig Ipod Touch with 4.2.1 installed. I used GreenPois1n and the installation instructions were very clear, easy, and Jailbreaked my device very easily and in about 2 minutes. Everything was fine until I went to use my ipod’s bluetooth capabilities, there were none. The bluetooth MAC address was gone too. What can I do to change this or do I have to restore? If anyone knows or can help that would be fantastic.
If you’re having trouble using greenpois0n to jailbreak your Apple TV under windows, make sure that you have iTunes installed.
Also, if you’re trying to do it under Virtualbox, make sure you get all 3 USB interfaces forwarded.
Apple TV2 jailbreak has a couple of gotchas.
Having Itunes installed on windows, rename the itunes.exe to itunes.exx whilst jailbreaking to stop the itunes app interfering with the jailbreak process – rename if back to exe once finished. (tried jailbreak 3 times, each time it failed although process looked like it had gone through succesfully, but only worked succesfully once I renamed the itunes.exe to stop it auto launching)
On the apple tv, I have found that my region changes back to US and wifi wont auto connect after power off – have to re-choose my wifi and location everytime I power it on – minor niggles.
Otherwise a brilliant hack and I now have XBMC on my TV!
